Israel eliminated Iran’s defensive forces

The Israeli Air Force, during an attack on Iranian military targets on October 26, destroyed the entire strategic defense potential of the Islamic Republic.

According to Day.Az, this was reported by the Israeli army radio “Halley IDF” citing national security sources.

“The attack destroyed all of Iran’s strategic defense capabilities. That is, all batteries of long-range anti-aircraft missiles. Iran had two such models – the Russian S-300 system and another improved model of Iranian production. All batteries were destroyed, as well as early warning radars. In fact, Iran only has batteries of short-range systems of domestic production left,” the radio station said in a material published on the social network X.

According to her data, the main damage to air defense batteries was recorded in Tehran and western Iran, from where, in particular, ballistic missiles were previously fired at Israeli territory.

IDF Galley notes, citing sources in the Israel Defense Forces, that Iran has lost its strategic surface-to-air missile capabilities for the next two to three years. This is due to the fact that purchasing new air defense systems in the current realities is problematic, and the production of new Iranian-style systems will take a long time, the publication says.

The radio station emphasizes that, according to open data, Iran has more than 2,000 long-range ballistic missiles. It is indicated that during the Israeli attack, only the ability to produce new missiles was damaged, and the existing arsenal was not damaged. Army Radio also claims that, contrary to various reports and publications, no damage was caused to the Iranian UAV industry.

The Israeli army believes that Iran could retaliate against the Jewish state and launch about 200 ballistic missiles directly during the Israeli air force attack. “The Air Force prepared a plan that would both defend against such an attack and complete all three waves of airstrikes without abandoning the destruction of any of the targets. In the end, the Iranians chose not to react immediately,” the radio station reported.

Despite various publications in the press that Iran will allegedly refrain from retaliating, Israel is busy preparing for such a scenario. “This time, the Americans are expected to play a larger role in defense and interception, including through an Israeli-based battery of THAAD missile defense systems, as well as three ships with AEGIS systems that are capable of intercepting ballistic missiles and have already assisted during the attack in early October,” reports IDF Galei.

On Saturday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was carrying out strikes on military targets in Iran as part of its response to the October 1 attacks on the Jewish state. More than 100 fighters, tankers and reconnaissance aircraft took part in the operation. CBS News, citing a source, reported that the Israeli attack on Iran was limited to military targets and did not extend to nuclear or oil facilities. According to IRNA, none of Iran’s oil industry facilities were damaged. Iranian media reported the death of four servicemen, and later it became known that another wounded man had died.

The Fars news agency claimed that Israel attacked a number of military bases in the west and southwest of Tehran. At the same time, the Tasnim news agency stated that the military centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), located in the west and southwest of the Iranian capital, were not damaged.

At the official level, there are threats from Iran that there will be a response to Israel’s attack.
