/ The Israeli government announced, on Monday, its approval to amend the 2024 budget, after three months of war with the Hamas movement.
The Israeli Ministry of Finance stated that “the government approved a revised state budget for the current year that includes additional funding worth 55 billion shekels ($15 billion).”
The additional funding includes allocations for defense and compensation for those affected by the war, in addition to increasing allocations for health and social care, police and education.
Last year, Israel approved a budget for 2023 and 2024, but the war with Hamas in Gaza severely damaged the government’s finances, requiring budget adjustments and additional spending.
