“Based on the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to peace, and in his capacity as President of the Al-Quds Committee, and alongside humanitarian aid, the Sovereign has repeatedly called for a collective action, each from their position, for an immediate, global and lasting ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid smoothly and in sufficient quantities for the benefit of the inhabitants of Gaza, and the refusal of the forced displacement of Palestinians” , indicated Mr. Bourita before the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum, which opened in Beijing.
“What is happening in Gaza, in addition to its disastrous humanitarian repercussions, represents a real threat to regional security and stability,” he noted.
In this sense, Mr. Bourita stressed that “what is happening in Gaza cannot be accepted or passed over in silence. The failure of the international community has an enormous cost,” noting that it was this inability that encouraged the Israeli army to bomb a camp housing more than 100,000 displaced Palestinians near the town of Rafah, leaving dozens dead and injured. wounded among civilians, in flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
Likewise, he continued, the incapacity of the international community has favored the transgression of international legality and the violation of everything that is tolerable with regard to human conscience, as affirmed by His Majesty the King .
According to Mr. Bourita, the procrastination of the international community encouraged the Israeli authorities not to comply with the decision of the International Court of Justice calling on Israel to immediately cease its military operations in Rafah.
In the same vein, the minister affirmed that China, due to its important place within the international community and its balanced policy favorable to various Arab issues, is considered a reliable partner, capable of playing a constructive role to achieve for a just and equitable settlement of the Palestinian question, in accordance with the two-State solution.
On this occasion, Mr. Bourita highly welcomed the “important step” taken recently by certain European countries, by recognizing the State of Palestine, which he considered to be a significant step on the path to the two-State solution as being an inevitable framework for the establishment of a lasting and comprehensive peace, through the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Al-Quds Acharif as its capital.
