ISS repaired the American water production system

by time news

The water supply system in the American block of the ISS was repaired. This was reported by the astronauts during the negotiations of the crew with the Earth. Earlier it was reported that the WPA system was out of order.

It was assumed that the system had broken due to a leak. Russian cosmonauts expressed their readiness to share drinking water with their American colleagues. At the same time, NASA noted that there is no threat to the crew, since the station’s water reserves will last for several months. Now the WPA system is on and recycle water, no failures.

The system receives potable water by recycling condensate from the atmosphere and urine. There are similar installations in the Russian segment of the station – a system for obtaining water from condensate SRV-K2M and from urine SRV-U-RS.

The 65th expedition is currently on the ISS. The team includes Russian cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky and Peter Dubrov, Americans Mark Wande Hai, Shane Kimbrow and Megan MacArthur, Frenchman Tom Peske and Japanese Akihiko Hoshide.
