Today, Monday, the financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Mohamed Saleh, recommended reorganizing the flow of means of transportation and methods of movement according to an equation based on 3 standards.

Saleh said to the (INA): “The country that suffered from problems with the availability of means of transportation in the years before the current economic boom has begun to compensate for those years and now wheels are available for more than one person in one family at the same time, with different international types and origins, and at prices that match… The Iraqi middle class, (which is the class that has an average annual income that even exceeds the average per capita income in the gross domestic product).”
He added, “The changing lifestyle, the rising standard of living, and the continued need for means of transportation on an ongoing basis require the availability of massive investments in infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, parking lots, etc., not to mention the availability of maintenance and repair workshops, spare parts, and gas stations, which certainly have high import costs.” It is borne by the national economy, especially the current account of the balance of payments, unless it has a corresponding economic return.”
He pointed out, “Iraq needs a serious pause in reorganizing the flow of means of transportation and methods of movement and walking, according to a standard equation that takes into account three criteria: the history of wheel manufacturing, technological progress, and the importance of mass means of transportation compared to individual transportation.”
