Today, Monday, the General Secretariat of the Most Holy Shrine in Najaf Al-Ashraf announced the commencement of implementation of the large multi-storey garage project in Najaf Al-Ashraf, while indicating that the project will contribute to significantly reducing the momentum, as its capacity reaches up to 3,000 wheels.

The head of the Engineering and Technical Affairs Department, Mustafa Mahbouba, told the (INA): “The Great Najaf Al-Ashraf Garage Project is one of the most important strategic and vital projects supervised by the Holy Imam Ali Shrine,” indicating that “the project is of great and extreme importance due to its proximity to the Holy Shrine within a distance.” It is 250 meters away from the pure shrine.”
Mahbouba added, “The area of ​​pouring work for the first phase amounted to (7,000) cubic metres, while the amount of concrete used was (5,600) cubic metres,” noting that “the garage can accommodate 3,000 small wheels, and there is also a floor for large wheels and five floors allocated for small wheels.” Two floors are designated for visitors to rest and eat.
He continued, “Today we began the first phase of the project, which includes pouring the foundations on an area of ​​5,600 square meters in one go. In just 12 hours, the pouring process was completed, relying on 12 concrete laboratories and using 12 wheels to pump concrete and more than 120 crusher mixers to supply the concrete and transport it from the laboratories to the site.” Pointing out that, “There are currently more than 75 workers on site whose work is polishing concrete, vibrating, and pouring, in addition to the consulting staff and employees from the University of Kufa laboratory, who participated in supervising the pouring stages by taking more than 600 samples to examine and ensure that they conform to the required engineering specifications.”
For his part, the project consultant, Alaa Abdul Hussein, told the (INA), that “the Grand Najaf Al-Ashraf garage is multi-storey and has many features, including those related to the location of this garage, which is 259 meters away from the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), as it will provide A great visiting experience for visitors coming for a visit.”
He explained, “The garage was designed using a smart parking method and will contain available and unavailable parking signs. It will also contain a special system for pre-reserving a visitor’s wheel space,” stressing that “this garage will reduce traffic congestion very significantly since its capacity is approximately 3,000 cars.”
