Porsche announced the Macan and Macan Turbo, the second generation of the original launched ten years ago, now in a 100% electric variant. Oliver Blume, chairman of the brand’s executive board, states that “we are taking the Macan to a completely new level – with exceptional E-Performance, new Driver Experience and stunning design”.

The manufacturer has used the latest generation of PSM electric motors on the front and rear axles to achieve greater efficiency as well as optimized power reproducibility. The Macan 4, in combination with Launch Control, delivers up to 300 kW (408 HP), with the Macan Turbo reaching 470 kW (639 HP). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.2 and 3.3 seconds, respectively, and maximum speeds are 220 and 260 km/h.

Inside, the high voltage (HV) battery is a central component of the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800 Volt architecture. Charging from 10 to 80% can be done in 21 minutes, at a suitable speed station. While driving, up to 240 kW of energy can be recovered via the electric motors. The press release highlights the use of an Integrated Power Box, which saves weight and space, combining three components: AC onboard charger, high voltage heat converter and the DC/DC converter.

On the outside, this model has a more dynamic and dominant look: “The new Macan is clearly recognizable due to its brand identity as part of the Porsche product family (…) The design leaves no doubt: the Macan continues to be the sports car of the its segment, even in electric form.”

In addition to the focus on performance, Porsche was also concerned with increasing daily functionality, choosing high-quality equipment and a spacious configuration: depending on the model and equipment, the rear luggage compartment capacity is 540 liters and there is a second luggage compartment under the hood with a capacity of 84 liters. With the rear seats completely folded down, capacity increases to 1348 liters.

On the dashboard, we find three screens, including the curved instrument panel (12.6 inches) and the 10.9-inch central screen, with the front passenger being able to see and control the infotainment system through its 10.9-inch screen. inches (optional). The new models are now available to order, with prices starting at €86,793 for the Macan 4 and €118,846 for the Macan Turbo, with the first deliveries scheduled for the second half of the year.
