Job description
Are you ready for a bigger task? For our investigation unit, we are looking for two IT forensic coordinators who are structured, ambitious and professional. With us, together with committed and pleasant colleagues, you will develop and gain experiences for life, while your work contributes to increasing security and reducing crime in Sweden.
At the Stockholm region’s investigation unit, there is the section Regional IT crime center 1. An assistant section that operates in several different areas of competence, all with a focus on contributing to the region’s investigation activities. The tasks are mainly in the areas of: IT forensics, internet retrieval and analysis of transactions with cryptocurrencies. The section also has a mission to contribute to increasing the competence of investigative activities regarding IT-related crime throughout the region.
Job description
As an IT forensics coordinator, you handle orders that come into the section. The task of the IT forensics coordinator is to ensure the quality of incoming orders and, in consultation with investigators and preliminary investigation leaders, design directives for IT forensic investigations.
The IT-forensic coordinator is advisory to the investigation activities regarding questions about IT-related evidence. It can e.g. about advice regarding how the work with digital evidence can be set up, what further measures may need to be taken or mediating contacts with other sections that work with IT-related evidence.
In larger cases and clusters, the IT forensics coordinator can step in as coordinator. The role then becomes a supervisor when you take over the role of the IT forensics group manager and both set up analysis tasks and work lines assigned to IT forensics. If necessary, you also participate in the investigative organization’s business meetings.
The IT forensics coordinator’s role also includes conveying information about IT forensics to the investigative organization. This means lecturing about IT forensic work, demonstrating the possibilities of IT forensics and conveying a working methodology that can be used in the investigators’ own analyzes of digital evidence.
As the IT forensics coordinator works in the borderland between investigative work and IT forensics, you will also identify shortcomings and friction between the operations. Being involved in the development work to improve collaboration between investigators and IT forensics is part of the work.
IT-related evidence appears today in most types of criminal investigations and the section’s competence is important for success in the investigative work. You get the opportunity for an everyday life where you feel that your work is of benefit to society!
