President Md. Sahabuddin said that although there is an advanced treatment system for kidney disease in the country, it is very expensive and time-consuming. Therefore, it is very important to create public awareness to prevent kidney disease along with treatment.
He said these things in a message on the occasion of ‘World Kidney Day-2024’.
Expressing satisfaction to know that ‘World Kidney Day 2024’ is being celebrated on Thursday (March 14) in Bangladesh like other countries of the world, he said that the government is making relentless efforts to provide essential health care to the common people of the country. In addition to the government, private and charitable institutions should come forward in the expensive treatment of kidney disease.
He said, kidney, an important organ of the human body, removes waste and excess water from the blood, regulates blood pressure, produces red blood cells and strengthens bones. A large number of people in the world are suffering from kidney related diseases. Kidney disease is a silent killer, slowly leading people to death. According to experts, the incidence of kidney disease is increasing rapidly due to uncontrolled and unhealthy lifestyle, diabetes, high blood pressure, excessive use of painkillers and antibiotics, adulterated food, obesity etc.
Md. Sahabuddin expressed hope that doctors, experts and related institutions will speed up their activities to spread the latest treatment of kidney disease in the country and bring more people under the service.
