Hapoel Haifa’s situation in the Toto Cup continues to deteriorate, and the team does not look ready for the season. Last night (Saturday, 8/13/2022) Nir Klinger’s players surrendered 3:1 to Hapoel Hadera at Sami Ofer Stadium in the 4th round of the Toto Cup. After 3 games in the factory, the Reds have no points at all. Considering the fact that the league starts on Saturday, they still have a lot of work and very little time. On the other hand, the guests from Sharon finished the group stage with a perfect balance and with a ticket to the factory semi-finals.
As expected in the Toto Cup, the game did not rise to a high level, and the first half was weak. Despite this, the visitors got on the board in the 38th minute. The hosts’ defense blocked a corner kick and Saar Fedida kicked in from outside the box. Fedida did not celebrate the goal, as he left Hapoel Haifa in the summer.
In the second half the game improved. In the 58th minute Hadera goalkeeper Guy Herman blocked a kick by Andrey Miron and another kick from a distance by Dino Stiglatz. On the other hand, Hadera scored with another corner kick in the 68th minute. Sammy Burrard singled and Jonathan Sisa struck out for Ohad Levita. The Reds realized that not only Hadera can score from corners, and in the 71st minute Hanan Maman hit a corner kick from Gidi Kaniuk into the net. In the fourth minute of added time, she decided to turn the game in her favor, after Tomer Makhlouf sent a cross and Burrard hit the net from close range.
The Reds are still at 0 factory points. On Wednesday (17/8/2022) they will be hosted by Hapoel Kiryat Shmona for the last game of the group stage, and if no big surprise occurs they will finish the home in last place which will lead them to the game for the last place in the factory in December. On Saturday (20/8/2022) Hapoel Haifa will start the Premier League season when they host Hapoel Tel Aviv.
