- The candidate-deputy was angry that there was only BGN 10,000 in the coffers, while BGN 5-7 million were needed for the elections
- In return for the election money, companies would immediately receive an advance of 30% from a direct contract with the Ministry of War for the repair of hangars
- Years ago, after a meeting with a Romany baron to buy votes, the politician promised him Todorov’s car as a gift if he secured them
At not one, but two meetings between People’s Representative Jeyhan Ibryamov and Miroslav Todorov, who is a key witness against him, comments were thrown about the murder of DPS chairman Delyan Peevski, “as long as we find the money”.
The conversations were documented with special intelligence tools, “24 Chasa” learned. Todorov also told about them during his interrogation before the inspectors from the anti-corruption commission.
Both according to the SRS and according to Todorov’s testimony, the deputy shared the following:
Ahmed Dogan told me that it won’t be like that, we will kill the Boy later, he means Delyan Peevski.
And he made a gesture in front of Todorov, because of which he assumed: They’ll probably shoot him for showing me the shape of a gun with his fingers, but let’s just find the money for it.
Ceyhan Ibryamov, who was detained with marked BGN 100,000
on October 2 in a parking lot in front of a hypermarket in Sofia, is accused of influence peddling. On Thursday, he was remanded in custody by the Sofia Court of Appeal.
The MP, who is currently independent, but is also a candidate for the 51st National Assembly from the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms coalition, had three meetings with Miroslav Todorov in recent weeks. The two had known each other since 2000, and since 2019 they were particularly close.
At their last meeting, the main topic was how much money Ibryamov needed for the elections – both for the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” and for his personal campaign in Shumen.
During the first conversation between the two, which was on September 25, after a brief introduction in which the politician complained that his jeep was taken, and Todorov that he was attacked by bedbugs in detention, Ibryamov himself brought up the topic of money. He did it with the reply that it was said that Todorov had withdrawn 57 million BGN from the cash register.
Miroslav Todorov was detained in August on charges of tax fraud in fertilizer and agricultural production transactions. Then Ibryamov’s jeep, which was driven by Todorov’s company, was seized.
The businessman confirmed to the politician about the withdrawn money, but corrected him that he had withdrawn this BGN 57 million within 3 years.
Ibryamov complained that there was only BGN 10,000 in the party’s coffers, and he needed an awful lot of money for the elections. If one or two million were found, it would still be something, although the necessary 5 – 7 million BGN.
The two agreed to meet the very next day – September 26, and during that time Todorov would see what he could do.
At the second meeting, Todorov reassured Jeyhan Ibryamov that he was looking for “these candies” (probably people who can give money for the elections – n.b.)but they were in Dubai and at the end of next week they would come. The businessman asked what the “visions” and “expectations” were.
The deputy assured that in exchange for the money received, there were several large objects in the defense, which could immediately put them on direct contract with a 30% advance payment. It was about construction and repair activities of hangars, one of the sites being in Varna.
To show the seriousness of the situation,
Ibryamov assured that “if necessary, we will also meet with Dogan”
As soon as he mentioned the name of his leader, Ibryamov added that “Dogan said that it would not always be like this”, “they were ready to pay as long as they found the money”.
This was followed by reasoning on the part of Todorov that it would not be so easy.
The third meeting is on October 2 when the marked BGN 100,000 is handed over in the parking lot. From the conversation recorded with SRS, it was understood that this money was to be used by a deputy in his campaign in Shumen. He
he was angry again that there were BGN 10,000 in the cash register and said: We need to find someone to blow it up.
It became clear from Todorov’s interrogation that this is not the first time he has given money to his friend for elections. Years ago, for example, the two had a meeting with a Romani baron. During the conversation, Ibryamov promised to give him Todorov’s luxury car if he provided him with votes for the elections.
