At teh weekly general assembly of the Rainbow Rpg on December 7 in Gbessia, the political office urged the justice system to shed light on the tragedy that occurred in Nzérékoré.
Marc Yombouno perceives through the drama a message from God to the transitional authorities.
The final of the football tournament with the President Mamadi Doumbouya trophy caused several deaths on December 1 at the 3-Avril stadium in Nzérékoré. Rainbow RPG executives call for the truth to be established. “We lived through September 28, 2009, today we are facing the tragedy in Nzérékoré.let us ensure that the truth is established, that such cases do not happen again in our country. There is a war of numbers: 56 deaths, 135 victims or even 200 or 300 lives lost, depending on the sources.Even just one death is one less compatriot,it’s blood spilled. The war of numbers, they just have to continue, but the light must be shed,” maintains Marc yombouno, from the political office of Rpg arc-en-ciel.
The former Minister of Commerce of Alpha Condé believes that investigators will have to focus on the organizers, financiers, promoters and actors of the so-called Refoundation football tournament which led to the tragedy.
“God sends messages. He doesn’t speak, but he goes through men. It’s up to men to think and pass messages to others. The Prime Minister, amadou Oury Bah, was the president of the organizing committee of the meeting at the September 28 stadium in 2009, against the candidacy of Moussa dadis Camara. God brought the Prime Minister back into this group (CNRD, Editor’s note) certainly to give us advice. Do you see the correspondence? When we are wise, God gives us all the instruments to understand. But peopel have their ears closed. It’s serious. When God gives you messages through men and if you don’t understand, too bad,” warns Marc Yombouno.

The rainbow RPG, confident
One month before the end of two years of transition concluded with the Economic community of West African States (ECOWAS), the junta is maneuvering to stay in power. The political office of the Rainbow Rpg invites the national committee of the Rally for Growth (CNRD) to respect its commitments, to respect the Charter and the 24-month timetable which will end on December 31. “For us, until proven otherwise, the President of the transition has never said that he is going to run in the presidential election. We, at Rainbow RPG, do not insinuate, we do not accuse, we trust. we believe that President Mamadi Doumbouya will not defy his honor. The man is honor. The soldier is honor. For us, our word will be respected to avoid Guinea from the mistakes of the past.We want Guinea to take a peaceful path for good living, development and prosperity,” dreams Marc Yombouno.
Moro Kourouma, the president of the national office of executives, invites activists to have more courage and to keep hope, “we are working for the future.” For him, if former president Alpha Condé had not been overthrown, Guinea would be stronger today. “We demand that he be reinstated. Everything he was accused of yesterday has become worse today,” he denounces.

How can the transitional government demonstrate its commitment to public safety in light of recent events?
Interview between the Time.news editor adn Marc Yombouno, Political Office member of Rainbow RPG
Time.news Editor: Good afternoon, Marc. thank you for joining us today. The recent tragedy in Nzérékoré during the football tournament has raised a lot of concerns across the nation. Can you provide some insights into what exactly transpired on December 1st?
Marc Yombouno: Thank you for having me. It’s indeed a grave situation. During the final of the President Mamadi Doumbouya trophy at the 3-Avril stadium, a crowd surge occurred, leading to several deaths and numerous injuries. While different sources report varying numbers—ranging from 56 to over 300 deaths—the key issue is that every loss of life is notable, and we cannot overlook the human tragedy behind the numbers.
Time.news Editor: Those numbers are shocking and highlight a serious issue regarding crowd safety and management in event association. What is the Rainbow RPG calling for in response to this tragedy?
Marc Yombouno: We are calling for a thorough investigation into the events that transpired. The justice system must shed light on this tragedy to ensure accountability and to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. We’ve faced similar heart-wrenching tragedies before, notably the events of September 28, 2009, and we must learn from our past mistakes.
Time.news Editor: It’s crucial to seek accountability. You mentioned a “message from God” to the transitional authorities. Can you explain that perspective?
Marc Yombouno: Certainly. I believe that through tragedies like this, there is a deeper message for our leaders. It signals the urgent need for change—be it in governance, public safety measures, or our collective obligation towards one another. The authorities must reassess their approach to managing large-scale events and prioritize the safety of citizens above all.
Time.news Editor: With the current political landscape, do you think the transitional government is listening to these calls for action from your party and the public?
Marc Yombouno: I sincerely hope that they do. The transitional authorities have a unique possibility to demonstrate that they are attuned to the needs of the people. Our message is not merely one of mourning—it’s a call to action to ensure our citizens feel safe during public events. This response could either strengthen their legitimacy or lead to further dissent if ignored.
Time.news Editor: That’s a powerful statement.Given the varying reports on the casualties, how significant is it for accurate figures to be released?
Marc Yombouno: It is vital. The varied numbers create confusion and mistrust among the population. Establishing a clear and accurate account of events is essential not just for healing but for implementing the necessary reforms in event management and public safety. Accurate reporting respects the memories of those we lost and honors their families who are seeking justice.
Time.news Editor: As a final thoght, what message would you like to convey to our readers regarding this tragedy and the path forward?
Marc Yombouno: I would urge everyone to remember that behind every statistic is a human life—someone’s loved one, a community member, a friend. Let us stand united in our grief and demand accountability, but also in our resolve to never let this happen again. Together, we can advocate for a safer future for everyone in our country.
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Marc, for your insights and for shedding light on such a crucial issue. we hope for positive changes that honor the lives lost and ensure a safer habitat for all citizens in the future.
