Ivory Case: Mohanlal’s Petition Under Law: High Court – Mohanlal

by time news

Kochi – The High Court has verbally inquired whether the accused actor Mohanlal has the legal right to approach the court against the magistrate court’s rejection of the government’s plea to withdraw the case of illegal possession of ivory. Justice Mary Joseph asked this while considering Mohanlal’s petition against the Perumbavoor Magistrate’s Court rejecting the prosecution’s application. The court sought an explanation from the government and adjourned the petition for consideration after the Ona vacation.

The court pointed out that the prosecution should approach the court against the order of the magistrate court. The High Court considered the plea filed by the actor seeking to quash the order and allow the government’s application to withdraw the case against him. The High Court pointed out that Mohanlal did not have the ownership certificate when the forest department officials filed the case.

The actor’s lawyer requested that Mohanlal’s presence in the trial court should be avoided, but the court said that this request cannot be considered in the petition.
