jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Jakarta Sport Festival 2024 which will be held at the Bulungan Theater and Sports Hall on 16 – 17 November 2024 is expected to be a forum for uniting the sports-loving community in the midst of the hot political temperature ahead of the simultaneous regional elections.
This festival involves dozens of Parent Sports (Inorga) and Regional KORMI, including Balance Bike, Taichi Gymnastics, Traditional Silat, Street Soccer, Skateboarding, Fitness Gymnastics, Line Dance, Cheerleading, and Physical Bodybuilding. This event is also expected to be able to encourage the sports and sport tourism industry in Indonesia.
“I am ready to run for General Chair of KORMI and make this program my main work program,” said this graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology and NUS LKY School of Public Policy.
Adil, who is also the son of Datuk Hakim Thantawi, founder of KORMI, explained the strategy that will be implemented to develop community sports. One of them is “Fitness Week,” an event that is regularly held twice a month to encourage people to exercise.
Apart from that, there are three superior programs that will be promoted, namely a national campaign to encourage people to actively exercise, joint fitness activities, and the development of sports in rural areas through village funds.
The 2024 Jakarta Sport Festival will be an event to unite the public and at the same time reduce the heat of the simultaneous regional elections
Interview between Time.news Editor and Adil Hakim, Candidate for General Chairman of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI)
Time.news Editor: Good day, Adil! Thank you for joining us. The Jakarta Sport Festival 2024 is just around the corner, and it seems like a significant event for the sports community. Could you tell us what your vision is for this festival and how you plan to achieve it?
Adil Hakim: Thank you for having me! The Jakarta Sport Festival 2024 is more than just an event; it’s a platform for uniting sports enthusiasts from all walks of life. With the upcoming regional elections and the heated political climate, our goal is to foster a sense of community and collaboration in sports. We believe that sports can transcend political differences and build a stronger society.
Time.news Editor: That’s a powerful message. Given the political temperature in the country, what specific initiatives will the festival include to ensure that it serves as a unifying forum?
Adil Hakim: We plan to involve a diverse range of sports and activities that cater to all ages and skill levels. By inviting various sports organizations, we aim to showcase the beauty of teamwork, inclusivity, and healthy competition. Additionally, we’ll host discussions and panels that focus on the role of sports in community development and social cohesion. Encouraging dialogue among attendees will be key to bridging divides.
Time.news Editor: That sounds promising! With the festival being on November 16-17 at the Bulungan Theater and Sports Hall, what logistical preparations are being made to accommodate such a large gathering?
Adil Hakim: We’ve been working closely with local authorities and organizations to ensure that the venue is equipped to handle the expected crowd. This includes everything from ensuring safety protocols are in place to providing amenities that can enhance the overall experience for participants and spectators alike. We’re also promoting the festival heavily on social media to raise awareness and encourage attendance.
Time.news Editor: Getting the word out is crucial. Speaking of community, how do you see the role of KORMI evolving in the future, particularly after this festival?
Adil Hakim: KORMI’s role is pivotal in the ongoing development of sports at the grassroots level. Post-festival, we plan to launch sustained programs that support local athletes and sports initiatives. We want to create continuous engagement rather than a one-off event, ensuring that we empower the community, nurture talent, and inspire the next generation of athletes.
Time.news Editor: That’s an inspiring outlook! Adil, do you have a message for the sports community and potential attendees of the festival?
Adil Hakim: Absolutely! I invite everyone to join us at the Jakarta Sport Festival 2024. Bring your friends and family, and come ready to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship. This is our chance to come together, enjoy the thrill of competition, and show that regardless of our differences, we can unite through our love for sports. Let’s make it an unforgettable experience!
Time.news Editor: Thank you, Adil, for your insights and for sharing your vision for the Jakarta Sport Festival 2024. We look forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
Adil Hakim: Thank you for having me! I’m excited for what’s to come!
