Jamal Musiala played a special role in Bayern’s clear victory in Bochum. After the final whistle he bursts out laughing.
FC Bayern Munich celebrated a clear win against VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Sunday – also thanks to Jamal Musiala. The Munich whirlwind contributed a goal in the German record champions’ 5-0 (2-0) win. After a free kick from Joshua Kimmich, Musiala scored the goal with a header to make it 2-0 (26th minute).
He scored Bayern’s first header goal of the season. After the final whistle, Musiala was able to take a look at the scene for the first time – and couldn’t stop laughing.
“Oh my God,” Musiala said on the DAZN microphone after his goal was replayed, before bursting into laughter. Then he answered the question whether the variant had been planned: “No, we had eye contact and then I somehow made it with my head.” Musiala added that he thinks headers are “cool because I’m not that strong at them.”
The 21-year-old said that he would have to use the header pendulum more in Munich, but: “I don’t think I get into this situation that often, so I’m practicing other things. Still, I was really happy with the goal.” He then talked about the entire game and emphasized that it was a good game. “It’s not easy to get a win here. We just want to take a step forward every game. Scoring goals is fun.”
“We can be happy today and take the flow with us into the next games,” emphasized Musiala again. Bayern continue in the DFB Cup against 1. FSV Mainz 05 during the week (from 8:45 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online).
