Shopian: Jammu and Kashmir has once again proved its commitment to bring development to the grassroots level. The accommodation facility for tribal students has been expanded. The administration announced that it has opened hostels for tribal students for the first time in Shopian.
Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel started its operations in Balapora area of Shopian. The district administration informed that the hostel system is of great help to the students from remote areas to study in the best schools of Shopian.
The construction of the hostel was completed with the special financial assistance of the Tribal Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir. The hostel is functioning with facilities including study materials, library, labs and computers for 100 students. The district administration said that even if they reach the hostel after the school hours, the tuition system is included, which is very helpful in improving the academic quality of the students.
