Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel started its operations in Balapora area of ​​Shopian. The district administration informed that the hostel system is of great help to the students from remote areas to study in the best schools of Shopian.

The construction of the hostel was completed with the special financial assistance of the Tribal Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir. The hostel is functioning with facilities including study materials, library, labs and computers for 100 students.
