Jeff Thomson says Jasprit Bumrah will retire soon

Sydney: A bowler who can bowl in a different action like Indian super pacer Jasprit Bumrah may not have a great career because of the same action, says former Australian player Jeff Thomson. Thomson also says that the player will soon retire without having a big career due to injuries.

‘Bumrah is taking overload now. He is bound to get injured as he plays all formats. It is up to him to decide what to do next. Spectators want him to play white ball cricket. All those who come to the stadium to watch him bowl white ball cricket’.

“He has to bowl 15 overs a day in Test cricket. Bumrah has to decide which formats to play to extend his career. With World Cups happening every year, white ball formats are no less important’.

“In a player’s career, there is only one decade when you can bowl that well. So more than emotion, you have to make a decision based on what it will do for you and the country,” Thompson said.
