Jeonnam Province joined forces with public institutions relocating to the Innovation City for win-win cooperation. On the 23rd, Jeollanam-do held a meeting with public institutions relocating Naju Innovation City to share local issues and discuss ways for win-win cooperation.

The meeting was attended by about 20 people, including South Jeolla Province Governor Kim Young-rok, former heads of public institutions such as Korea Electric Power Corporation, the mayor of Naju, and the president (dean of academic affairs) of Korea Institute of Energy Technology, and discussed ways to achieve win-win cooperation.

Jeonnam Province is smoothly carrying out pending projects such as the second relocation of public institutions in the metropolitan area to former public institutions, attracting affiliated organizations, expanding the recruitment of local talent, preferential purchasing of local products, local contribution projects (scholarships to foster local talent, etc.), and leading projects for the global energy transition. Jeonnam Province continues to cooperate with 16 former public institutions, including Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), for mutual growth in the region.

In addition, to ensure that the innovation city grows into a luxury city well-equipped with industry, culture, education, medical care, and welfare facilities, together with Gwangju and Naju cities, the ‘Life SOC Complex Innovation Center’ equipped with a children’s library and childcare support facilities, exhibition and multi-purpose rooms, swimming pool, and youth The ‘Bitgaram Complex Innovation Center’, which will house a cultural center, is scheduled to be completed by 2025.

This year, a joint recruitment information session was held to recruit local talent, a meeting was held jointly with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to support resident companies to revitalize the industry-academia-research cluster, a Namdo cultural tour to introduce the culture and arts of the Namdo to executives and employees of former public institutions, and local residents and former public institutions. The Korea Veterans’ Association is an organization of retired police officers established in 1960 and has 1.5 million active members. Through the agreement, we plan to actively cooperate in participating in and promoting Jeonnam Province’s return-to-farm, fishing and fishing village program and strengthen activities to attract urban residents together with Jeonnam Province.
