Singer Jessie terminated her exclusive contract one month after signing with her agency. It has been reported that Jesse’s involvement in the recently publicized fan assault incident influenced the termination of his contract.
Jessie’s agency, DOD Entertainment, said on the 18th, “We would like to apologize once again for causing concern with recent bad news.”
“Our company and Jessie had many conversations about future activities, and at Jessie’s request, after careful consideration, we decided to end our exclusive contract as of October 18, 2024,” he said. “Although it was a short period of time, we would like to express our gratitude to Jessie for being with us. “I will sincerely support Jesse’s future.”
Recently, an incident occurred where a minor fan who asked to take a photo with Jesse was assaulted by his group. Victim A approached Jessie in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in the early morning of the 29th of last month and asked to take a photo, but was refused. In response, Mr. A tried to turn away, but Mr. B, a man around Jesse, suddenly assaulted him. At first, Jessie tried to stop Mr. B’s actions, but he just watched and left.
Mr. A filed a complaint against four people, including Jessie and the producer, and Jessie appeared at the police on the 16th as a defendant. Jessie claimed to not know the person who assaulted Mr. A and said, “I hope the person who hit me is found quickly and punished. “I will tell it like it is,” he told reporters.
Meanwhile, Jessie signed a label and management contract with D.O.D in September and established the independent label UNNI to begin independent activities.
