Experienced Sanjeev Kapoor has been appointed CEO of Jet Airways.
Jet Airways, which ceased operations in 2019 due to the financial crisis, is set to resume operations three years later this summer.

Sanjeev Kapoor, who currently heads the Oberoi Hotel, will step down and take over as CEO of Jay Airways on April 4.

Prior to this, he was the Commercial Officer of Vistara Airlines and the Chief Executive Officer of SpiceJet.

Sanjeev Kapoor, who holds an MBA from Wharton University in Pennsylvania, began his career in 1997 with Northwest (now Delta) Airlines in the United States.

Sanjeev Kapoor has also worked for Pain and Company in Dallas, Temasek Holdings in Singapore in 2004 and Arakal.

Who widened Vistara

Sanjeev Kapoor was the Chief Executive Officer of Vistara from 2016 to 2019. By the time he joined the service, he had operated 40 flights a day, rising to the point where he was operating 200 flights a day when he left work. Increased from owning 9 aircraft to 38. Kapoor also served as Commercial Officer at SpiceJet in 2014-15.

Financial crisis

Jet Airways is the oldest private airline launched in India in 1993. It ceased operations in 2019 due to various financial crises. Thereafter, the Jalan Kalrak Federation filed a restructuring plan with the National Company Law Tribunal and obtained approval to operate Jet Airways again.
