José Alexander Pineda, a palabrero from Barrio 18, faces trial before the Fifth Sentencing Court for the crime of illicit groups. This subject was captured in April 2022 inside a restaurant located in San Bartolo, which was used as a front by the gang to coordinate various criminal activities.

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) has asked the court for an exemplary sentence against this terrorist, who played a key role within the criminal structure of Barrio 18, facilitating the commission of crimes under the cover of an apparently legitimate business.

In another case related to gangs, eight members of the MS (Mara Salvatrucha) face the Hearing for the Imposition of Measures. These gang members were arrested between October 10 and 13 thanks to the Exception Regime operations and are being prosecuted for belonging to this criminal organization and committing multiple crimes in various sectors of the department of La Libertad.

The detainees are part of various MS cliques, including:

Crazy Keys

Criminal Demons

Crazy Armenians

Crazy Porteños

Crazy Chiltiupanes

Locos Crabfish

The authorities seek to impose rigorous measures on these individuals, who occupy different ranks within the criminal structure.
