The journalist Cristina Fallarás participated in the program ‘Everything is a lie‘, the Cuatro program in which she works as a collaborator, to explain the process through which she revealed the accusations against Íñigo Errejón of sexist violence and which triggered the dissimilation of the Sumar‘s former spokesperson.

«I have long since given up on the Instagram bulletin board for women’s stories (…) I published this because I had it in the queue because I have many in the queue and immediately someone took it from my Instagram, published it on Twitter and said “this man is a spokesperson for the Congress of Deputies”. From there a sequence of people began to point to Íñigo Errejón linked to that message that woman had sent me,” he begins.

The journalist underlines that she has multiple messages: «There are several women who, seeing this message, in fact, talk to me about different politicians. I post messages if they want them to be posted. After I posted this, other women wrote to me saying ‘I know who you’re talking about, he did something like this to me…’. “They are afraid of being published in case they are recognized.” Fallarás clarified that “if they send me this it’s because they won’t press charges.” “The only thing I do is publish those testimonies that women send me to build a collective memory of violence,” she says.

«If they put the name I won’t publish it. Have you seen Errejón’s name somewhere? So, what evidence do you have? Here you don’t need proof of anything, it’s a woman telling you something that happened to her. “Errejón accept the above and resign, each to his own.” Fallarás says he has messages about other politicians and journalists: “What I publish are women’s stories, not complaints. At no time does this woman say ‘this man is Errejón’, nor do I tell you, I have no idea. I have received other stories in which they say it’s about Errejón, but I haven’t published them and I won’t publish them. “I have many politicians and many journalists.”

Regarding Íñigo Errejón’s letter of resignation, he assures that “with all these euphemisms he means to say that he took little care and little care for himself, that he respected little and little respect for himself”. «He says that something serious is happening to him because, if you emancipate yourself and others and, moreover, being a man you believe that patriarchy makes it more serious for you, it is that you are admitting some kind of behavior that not only does not like it but it took you to therapy”, she said. «A testimony appears which, without citing it, spreads on the networks. A testimony that describes something that other women say who recognize themselves and say: “I think it’s like this”. happened all day yesterday, he decides to resign. Therefore I conclude that one thing is connected to the other”, he concluded.
