London: A London court has ordered the release of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States. Despite the court order, the British Home Office can decide whether to release Assange. Assange can appeal the verdict within 14 days.

Julian Assange is under investigation for leaking secret files related to the Iraq-Afghanistan war. Assange is facing 18 criminal charges. It is up to British Home Secretary Preity Patel to decide whether to release Assange.

In 2010, WikiLeaks published confidential files related to the United States. Assange has been in jail in London since 2019. Assange’s lawyers said the case would go to appeal.

Assange has released more than 500,000 million classified documents related to the Iraq and Afghan wars. The United States wants Assange to be tried in this case.

Assange’s claim that sending him to the U.S. could lead to solitary confinement and suicide could be accepted. But the US appealed.
