Neelakandan is a resident of Mettutheru area in Putheri Village Panchayat, a suburb of Kanchipuram.

First in district, zonal and state level kickboxing competitions and from time to time in severe economic crisis, he participated in various competitions and won many medals like gold, silver and bronze due to the encouragement of his parents.
In this case, the Asian kickboxing championship in Thailand began on the 10th and ended on the 18th in the Thailand-Bangkok area. In this, more than 500 players from 20 countries including India competed in various categories.
Especially on behalf of Tamil Nadu State Amateur Kickboxing Association, Neena from Kanchipuram participated in 50 kg weight category and Sarathraj from Vellore participated in 75 kg weight category for India.
In this case, Nina participated in the individual competition in the CREATIVE FORM-FEMALE HARD STYLE (WEAPON) category and won the gold. With this victory, Neena has also achieved the title of Tamil Nadu’s first gold medalist in an Asian level kickboxing competition.

Similarly, in another competition, Neena also won a bronze medal. His fellow Tamil Nadu player Sarathraj won the bronze medal.
And Neena said that she belongs to an economically backward family and as she has proved her sporting ability by winning gold at the Asian level, she is going to work hard to participate in the Olympic Games soon.
