Kaplan Street opens to traffic following the unblocking of the judicial system reform

The Kaplan intersection was temporarily closed due to a protest against legal reform. Despite the announcement of its suspension by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and negotiations between factions, the protest proceeded. The Labor Party’s negotiating team thanked the President of the State for his role in preventing the return of dangerous legislative initiatives promoted by the coalition. They also emphasized the importance of democratic voices being heard during closed-door discussions.

The Kaplan intersection was closed to traffic this evening (Wednesday), due to a protest that took place there against the legal reform. After a short time, it was opened to traffic again. The protest took place even though Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced its suspension the day before yesterday, and talks on the issue began yesterday between the Likud factions, Yesh Atid and the state camp.

We have come to make sure from the inside that the coup laws are not returned to the Knesset for a backdoor vote and to make sure that the position of the democratic camp, which has taken to the streets in its hundreds of thousands, will also be heard inside the closed rooms.”
