University of Florida Athletics Welcomes Kevin Hurley as Executive Associate AD for Facilities

A seasoned leader in collegiate athletics infrastructure, Kevin Hurley, has been appointed as teh university of Florida’s Executive associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Capital Projects, the Athletics Department announced today. Hurley brings over two decades of experience in facility growth and large-scale project management to Gainesville, poised to oversee all capital improvement initiatives for the Gators.
Hurley will be a key member of the department’s executive leadership team, responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships. His role also encompasses guiding risk-mitigation strategies and ensuring Florida’s athletic facilities maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and competitive performance.
“Kevin brings a wealth of experience building and managing top-tier athletics facilities and led Texas A&M’s redevelopment of Kyle Field, a $450 million project completed in 2015,” said Athletics Director Scott Stricklin. “He offers a rare blend of senior-level management expertise and hands-on operational experience from earlier in his career, particularly in recruiting and internal team operations.”
Prior to joining the University of Florida, Hurley served as Director of Quality Assurance for the Texas A&M University System, where he oversaw athletics-related projects across multiple campuses, spearheaded revenue-generating initiatives, and contributed to system-wide strategic projects. from 2022 to 2024, he leveraged his expertise as a Collegiate Capital Project Advisor/Project Executive with the Nations Group, a leading owner’s-representative firm specializing in collegiate stadium and arena developments. In this capacity, he coordinated with architects, contractors, and government entities on behalf of major university clients.
A Legacy Forged at Texas A&M
hurley’s career is deeply rooted in a 30-year tenure at Texas A&M University, including seven years as Associate Athletics Director for Facilities. During his time in College Station, he oversaw the development of numerous award-winning facilities, including Olsen Field at blue Bell Park, the Hildebrand Equine Complex, the Davis Football Player Development Center, expansions to the Luminous football Complex and the Ellis Soccer stadium, the RC Slocum Nutrition Center, the cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie basketball, the McFerrin Athletic Center, and the West Campus Player Development Center.
Beyond facilities management, Hurley also served as a sport administrator for baseball, women’s soccer, and equestrian, demonstrating a complete understanding of the needs of various athletic programs. His early roles at Texas A&M included administrative positions supporting men’s basketball and baseball, as well as roles in basketball recruiting and internal operations.
Early Career and Educational Background
Before his extensive career at Texas A&M, Hurley gained valuable experience in professional sports, serving as home and visiting clubhouse manager for the Triple-A omaha Royals. He also dedicated 13 years to the College World Series, holding leadership positions such as assistant tournament director and NCAA Regional tournament director. He further honed his skills as assistant director of championships for the Missouri Valley Conference for two years.
Hurley holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Creighton University (1990) and a master of Science in accounting from Texas A&M University (2000).
