In the women’s table tennis competition among all age groups held at Jaffna Central College yesterday.
1st Place: Delaney Jagadeeswaran,
2nd Place: Tarjika Gangeswaran,
3rd place is Dhanushika Balakrishnan. Also, they won first place in the 20-member group competition and brought pride to Kilinochchi Manna and Kilinochchi Mahavidyalaya. They started their training in 2017 and have achieved it due to their hard work, self-confidence, complete support of their parents, and the experience of participating in the open competition organized by the Northern Province Sports Department.
Meanwhile, Kilinochchi Mahavidyalaya got 3rd place in 18-member group competition and 2nd place in 16-member division.
In the men’s category when viewed in its entirety,
1st place: Shanthakumar Nilaksan, Kilinochchi Madhya Mahavidyalaya. 2nd place Joel Piyaseelan Kavinilawan, Kilinochchi M.V. Men’s 18 Group Competition 2nd place Madhya Mahavidyalayam.
Kili M.V. 3rd place in 16, 18 boys category.
Kilinochchi students are dominating in table tennis, I am very happy to be the table tennis coach of Kilinochchi District Secretariat. Players who want to train in this way can also train at the district training center. Players need to be motivated if they want to win at the national level. Rewards should be given. More matches should be held in Kilinochchi. Had it been a different district, how the students would have been honoured. There are many helpful minders of Kilinochchi soil in foreign countries too, take this into consideration and encourage domestic sports as well.
