Tokyo: Reportedly, North Korea has conducted a missile test by firing a missile towards Japan. A long-range missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead was fired. It is concluded that Korea conducted the missile test. The missile landed in the sea, causing panic in Japan. Train services were suspended in northern Japan. Many were evacuated and moved to underground chambers.
Japan condemns North Korea’s missile test South Korea also accused it of conducting a missile test. The US had earlier warned that North Korea would launch a missile test. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has warned that North Korea’s action will be met with an appropriate response. He also stated that North Korea’s missile test violated all the principles and norms of the United Nations. His office also said that he was ordered to take appropriate measures in cooperation with the US, an ally, and the international community.
The US warned that the Chinese Party Congress to be held on October 16 will be provoked in the coming days. Japan’s coast guard also confirmed that North Korea had launched a ballistic missile. Vessels were warned to be cautious. North Korea’s missile test comes as South Korea, Japan and the United States intensify joint military exercises. South Korea, Japan and the US held submarine drills in the sea on Friday. This angered North Korea. US Vice President Kamala Harris arrived in Seoul last week.
