Kimmich criticizes referee mistakes against Barça – “More like a foul”

by times news cr

FC Bayern clearly came under the wheels against FC Barcelona. There was excitement about the Catalans’ second goal. A Bayern star expressed criticism.

The significant defeat at FC Barcelona came as a surprise: FC Bayern lost 4-1 to the team of former national coach Hansi Flick on Wednesday evening. A debacle for Munich and already the second defeat in the third Champions League game this season.

There was excitement in the 36th minute of the game: Robert Lewandowski had just given FC Barcelona a 2-1 lead. However, one scene beforehand heated up tempers. With a high ball into the attacking third, Bayern’s Min-jae Kim rose to head the ball, but was pushed by Barcelona professional Fermin. The South Korean therefore did not hit the ball correctly. Fermin was able to pick up the ball and then pass it to Lewandowski. The hit also withstood a check using video evidence.

After the game, Joshua Kimmich was asked about the scene by the streaming service DAZN. The German international didn’t seem overly angry, but he expressed clear criticism of the interpretation of the scene.

“You can see that the arm is on it. The problem is that when you jump, you don’t have that much tension and a slight push is enough for you not to catch the ball very well,” explained Kimmich and pushed over the decision of the referee not to whistle a foul: “I would say that if he whistles that in the game, there’s no way he’ll take it back.” The midfielder also made it clear: “For me it’s more of a foul.” In his opinion, the goal should not have been given.

But Kimmich didn’t want to use the scene as an excuse for the heavy defeat. In the end, the defeat against Barcelona was too clear. The Bayern star found the result to be a little too high. “I don’t think the game was 4-1,” said Kimmich, but then admitted: “But it was still a deserved defeat.”

Despite the two defeats, he is looking forward to the next tasks in the Champions League in a relaxed manner. Bayern face Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain at home. Kimmich on the difficult opponents: “I’m not worried.” First of all, the Bundesliga is on the agenda for the German record champions anyway. On Sunday we go to Bochum.
