Numerous Russian news sites such as “RIA”, “Sputnik”, “Readkovka” and “Mash” had previously reported, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, that the monarch died on Sunday at the age of 75. A fake statement from Buckingham Palace was published about this. “The king died unexpectedly yesterday afternoon,” said the letter, which can still be found on X.
The Russian news portal “Sputnik” also reported the alleged death of the British monarch. “King Charles III of Great Britain has died at the age of 75, according to media reports,” Sputnik said, according to the Daily Mail. “There is no information about this on the royal family website or in the British media.”
A few minutes later, the news portal corrected the report after pointing out that Charles was by no means deceased. However, the news quickly made the rounds on X. Many users wondered whether King Charles III. really died. The British monarch had to undergo routine surgery in January. At the beginning of February it was announced that the 75-year-old was suffering from cancer. It is not known what type of cancer it is.
