Korean baseball maintained 6th place in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) world rankings.
In the world rankings announced by WBSC on the 31st of last month (Korean time), Korea ranked 6th with 4,539 ranking points.
WBSC ranks teams from the under-12 national team to the adult national team based on their performance in international competitions over the past four years.
Korea, which was ranked 4th in the world rankings in August of last year, was unable to improve its ranking after falling to 6th in September.
In particular, in the WBSC Premier 12 held in November last year, they suffered the humiliation of being eliminated in the group stage and did not score many points.
Japan ranked first in the world rankings with 6,911 points. Japan has been maintaining its top spot since 2018.
Taiwan, which won the Premier 12 by defeating Japan, maintained second place with 5,558 points.
3rd to 5th places are Venezuela (4877 points), Mexico (4769 points), and the United States (4751 points).
