Juniors from the Krasnodar Territory won for the first time in the team event at the Russian Athletics Championship in Ufa. The competitions were held from June 29 to July 2, 2021 at the Rima Batalova Sports Training Center. More than 600 athletes under 20 from 64 regions of Russia took part in them. Kuban was represented at the tournament by 29 athletes.
The press service of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Krasnodar Territory noted that Matvey Gerasimov and Arseny Kipor managed to win gold and silver medals, respectively, in the start at 200 meters, the young men fulfilled the standards for master of sports of the country. Among the girls, the second place in the heptathlon was taken by the Kuban athlete Valeria Moskvitina, she also received the category of master of sports. Gold was also awarded to the men’s team in the relay 4 to 100, consisting of Igor Mikryukov, Matvey Gerasimov, Nikita Shushenachev and Arseny Kipor.
