L7 of the Metro debuts 3 escalators

After more than 30 years of operation, the Metro Collective Transportation System (STC) launched 3 new escalators at the station Line 7 to San Jerónimo”>Barranca del Muertoof Line 7, of a total of 18 that were acquired to modernize obsolete equipment.

The general director of the STC Metro, Guillermo Calderón, highlighted that in Barranca del Muerto there are 10 escalators and as part of the first stage, six mechanisms will be renewed, so that all the stairs will be replaced, after 36 years of operation.

Calderón explained that two of the three new teams are working on the way up and one more on the way down, and the work of renovation for the remaining three they will begin in the coming days.

The tMetro official pointed out that Barranca del Muerto registers a great influx, since 55 thousand users enter per day, who benefit from this renovation, which he highlighted as “fundamental for mobility within the station”, since it is one of the deepest in the network.

Likewise, he pointed out that the 18 new stairs that are installed in this phase are added to the 46 previously acquired, with which the Metro renewed 64 teams and for this, the current administration invested 423 million of pesos.

On Line 7, in addition to Barranca del Muerto, two teams are also renewed in Mixcoac and four in Polanco. Likewise, four more will be replaced in the Medical Center, on Line 3 and two in Puebla, on Line 9.
On the other hand, Calderón asked users to use the emergency stop button strictly if necessary, since improper use can cause accidents.
