Lana. The municipal council of Lana approved in its last session an important project from the point of view of the road system to be improved: the pedestrian bridge over the Valsurawhich has served residents and tourists day after day since 1984, will be replaced by a new wooden bridge which will be wider and equipped with sufficient space to guarantee the passage of pedestrians and cyclists in complete safety.
The project relating to the intervention has been approved and the tender notice has already been published. The costs amount to around 650 thousand euros (just over 648 thousand euros). Following an inspection, the bridge was recently closed for safety reasons. The new building will not only satisfy current needs, but will also comply with future needs. With a width of 3.50 meters (compared to the current width of 2 metres), it will safely and efficiently support the simultaneous transit of pedestrians and cyclists.
«The bridge over the Valsura is an important connection from Lana di sopra to Lana di mezzo and is essential for pedestrians and cyclists. Therefore, the construction of the new bridge over the Valsura is an absolute priority for our municipal administration”, commented the deputy mayor (acting) of Lana, Valentina Andreis, anticipating the start of the bridge renovation works. Construction work is expected to begin soon, next summer, and is expected to be completed by autumn.
The costs of the project, which as mentioned amount to a total of 648,367 euros, will be covered thanks to the support of the European Regional Development Fund and state and regional funding. E.D.
