Large amount of fake VAT at residence, four expatriates arrested; Huge stock of liquor and equipment seized

Manama: Expatriates who were making a large amount of fake VAT at their place of residence were arrested in Bahrain. Bahraini authorities said four Asian men aged between 41 and 46 were arrested for illegally manufacturing alcohol. They were arrested for possessing intoxicating substances and making alcohol at their residence.

The four expatriates were arrested during an investigation conducted by the Bahrain National Investigation Committee (NCCTP) and the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Evidence to detect the illegal manufacture and sale of drugs by individuals. The place where they were manufacturing fake liquor and its materials have been found. The equipment used for this has been seized. Further legal action will be taken against them. For this, the case will be handed over to the public prosecution. So far, only four Asians have been arrested. NCTEP has not released more details.

Meanwhile, NCCTEP is in the process of conducting such inspections in more places in Bahrain. NCCTEP has also sought the public’s help for that. NCCTEP has requested people to report any suspicious activities by calling the hotline number 995.
