The Latvians started with the fifth number and, finishing in three minutes and 15.715 seconds, became the leaders, despite the fact that the women’s double crew did not control the sled in one of the sections of the track.

Of the other four competing teams, none managed to overtake Latvia, including the luge sports superpowers Austria and Germany.

The second place was won by the German team, which lost to the Latvians by 0.199 seconds, while the Americans were third with a deficit of 0.434 seconds. All nine participating national teams finished.

Latvians were fourth in the first relay, but did not finish in the second, which took place in Sigulda.

In the overall ranking, after three relays, Latvia is in fourth place with 160 points, only two points behind third-placed Ukraine. Germany is the leader with 270 points, followed by Austria with 245 points.

In the 2024/2025 season, the World Cup stages will still take place in Germany, South Korea and China. The sixth stage of the competition will take place on January 18 and 19 at another German track in Winterberg, and at the same time there will also be a European Championship. On the other hand, the world championship will take place on the Whistler track in Canada from February 6 to 8.
