The leadership stated in a statement – received by the (INA) – that “in the framework of working under the directives of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, and the Undersecretary for Police Affairs, and within the plans drawn up by the Maysan Governorate Police Command, which is to assign all government departments and provide protection for them in carrying out their duties.” In charge of it, a campaign was implemented to remove encroachments on public streets and sidewalks in the center of the city of Amara.”
She explained, “The campaign aims to remove violations from sidewalks and markets and open closed roads to the movement of cars and citizens, which was supervised by Maysan Governorate Police Commander, Human Rights Major General Lafta Fakher Al-Muhammadawi.”
She added, “The campaign will continue to open the streets, organize markets, and prevent trespassers from using the streets and closing them,” explaining, “The campaign included removing trespassers from the main streets, in addition to the main premium for selling flour in the district, in addition to organizing the work of stall owners and streamlining movement.” Traffic of vehicles and citizens.
