The representative of the “King” indicated that a departure was in no way on the agenda despite the rumors.

LeBron James is not looking to leave the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent Rich Paul assured Friday, amid rumors concerning the 39-year-old NBA mega star.

“LeBron will not be transferred and is not seeking to be”Paul told ESPN.

LeBron James, basketball’s biggest current star, is linked to the Lakers until 2025 if he activates his option for next year.

After Cleveland, Miami (two NBA titles in 2012 and 2013), then a return to Cleveland (title in 2016), James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018 and won a fourth championship ring in 2020.

The winger, who celebrated his 39th birthday in December, remains an essential player for the Lakers this season (24.9 points, 7.7 assists and 7.5 rebounds on average), whom he led to the trophy of the new NBA Cup in Las Vegas in December.

But the franchise with 17 titles is inconsistent and is only in 9th place in the Western Conference, enough to qualify for the moment only for the play-offs, with a balanced record (25 victories in 50 matches).

James has repeatedly displayed his annoyance at the weaknesses of the Lakers, finalists in the Western Conference last year after having already passed through the play-offs. But without him and without All-Star pivot Anthony Davis, the rest of the squad sent a message by beating Boston, current best NBA team, on Thursday away.
