On the resolution brought by the Chief Minister M.K.Stalin regarding the Setu Samudra Project, a heated discussion was held by the members of the Legislative Assembly.

During the debate in the Assembly, Congress member Selvaperundagai, who expressed his unanimous welcome to the resolution, commented on Ram.

In the past, when Selvaperundagai accused the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa of her stance on the Sethu Samudra project, legislator O. Panneerselvam responded by interjecting.

Speaking further, Legislative BJP Committee President Nayanar Nagendran said that the BJP would support if the Setu Samudra project is implemented without damaging the bridge that existed during the time of Ram.

Meanwhile, after AIADMK and BJP members objected to Selvaperunthakai’s comment about Ram, Speaker Appavu said that Selvaperunthakai’s comment would be deleted.

Subsequently, speaking on behalf of AIADMK on the separate resolution, Pollachi Jayaraman said that if this scheme brings more benefits to the people, AIADMK will support the resolution.

Kongu Easwaran, a member of Kongunadu People’s National Party, speaking in the Assembly, said that if the Setu Samudra project had been completed, the cost of the exporters would have been reduced by 40 thousand crore rupees, and he demanded that the project should be completed as soon as possible.

Members of parties including Madhyamik Party, Tamil Nadu Life Rights Party, Communist Party of India and Humanity People’s Party welcomed and supported the separate resolution brought by the Chief Minister.

Following this, Speaker Appavu announced that the Setu Samudra Project resolution brought by the Chief Minister was passed unanimously.
