A caller insulted US President Joe Biden live on TV on Christmas Eve – and he even agrees. Biden had been on the phone with several families on Friday when a caller said goodbye with the words “Let’s Go Brandon” (in German: “Let’s go, Brandon”). The slogan is the code for an insult among supporters of Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump Bidens.
Biden reacted unmoved and said: “Let’s go Brandon, I agree”. It was unclear whether the President had understood the implication, but his wife Jill Biden, sitting next to them, giggled uncomfortably and rolled her eyes.
The slogan stands for “Fuck Joe Biden”
The slogan stands for the vulgar abuse “Fuck Joe Biden”. It has its origins in a television incident in early October when a journalist for NBC interviewed a car race winner, Brandon Brown. While the fans were clearly singing “Fuck Joe Biden” in the background, the reporter said they were singing “Let’s Go Brandon”. The phrase spread like wildfire in right-wing circles.
The Christmas Eve incident occurred during a conference call between the US President and children who were watching Santa Claus travel around the world live on the Internet. The US Air Defense Command Norad has specially made a website available for this.

Caller “Jared” revealed himself to Biden as the father of four children. Biden spoke briefly to the children, asked them what presents they wanted for Christmas and told them to be in bed before midnight. He also mentioned that he and “Jared” both had sons named Hunter. At the end of the call, Biden wished “Jared” a “wonderful Christmas”. He replied: “Merry Christmas and Let’s Go Brandon!”
Norad’s Santa Claus tracker dates back to 1955. Back then, a newspaper ad in Colorado gave a wrong phone number to put children through Santa Claus. Instead of going to Santa Claus, they ended up on the air defense command hotline.
