Democracy, civil society and structuring of the State are some of the themes of the free Citizen Training course, which social organization Solidarity League offers from April 22nd to May 31st. Classes will be in the evening, from 7pm to 9pm, on Mondays and Wednesdays. In its second edition, the course is held by the Liga Solidária Teaching and Research Institute and will have nine meetings, combining online and in-person modalities.
“The initiative awakens critical sense and promotes the strengthening of people for social mobilization, fights for rights, participation in decision-making and contribution to articulations of public policies, provoking the active exercise of citizenship for a process of social justice and placing put into practice the League’s mission of developing people who are protagonists of their own lives and capable of transforming the environment in which they live”, says Regiane Melo, general coordinator of the course.
For Monalisa Gonçalves de Sousa, responsible for the Solidarity League’s Community Development strategy, “the course aims to boost the development of the Solidarity League’s surroundings, through the construction of solid initiatives that expand the organization’s social impact”.
