In a coordinated operation, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX), the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Environmental and Territorial Planning Office (PAOT) They rescued 53 animals who allegedly suffered abuse in a hostel located in the Narvarte neighborhood, Benito Juárez mayor’s office.
The CDMX Prosecutor’s Office reported that the animals that were rescued are safe and sound.The search culminated in the arrest of a woman in charge of the place,who was released under reservations of the law.
“Both the dogs and the pigeons are already in adequate facilities. for their custody,under the supervision of veterinary doctors,in properties located in different municipalities,where they will remain until their legal situation is resolved,” the institution highlighted.
The property, located on the street Xochicalcohoused 24 dogs and 29 pigeons in conditions of neglect, overcrowding and lack of ventilation, according to a veterinary opinion issued by the General Coordination of Forensic Investigation and Expert Services.
The dogs were confined in cages, with skin lesions and no room to move, while the pigeons remained in small spaces inadequate for their well-being. In addition, the place had an accumulation of waste and lacked minimal hygienic conditions, which aggravated the condition of the animals.

The FGJ CDMX reported that the ministerial agent of the General Coordination of territorial Investigation gathered evidence to request and obtain the search order from a control judge, derived from a complaint of facts presented to the Environmental Crimes Investigation Prosecutor’s Office and in Matter of Urban Protection (FIDAMPU) for possible neglect and abuse in an animal shelter,
The complaint indicated that the species were in neglected, abused and overcrowded conditions, in addition to pointing out the existence of a large accumulation of waste and polluting waste on the property located in the Narvarte neighborhood.
