Body Discovered Following Longueuil Fire; Investigation Underway

The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) responded to a call shortly before 11 p.m. assisting the Longueuil Agglomeration Fire Safety Service (SSIAL). the incident occurred at an abandoned building on Saint-Charles Street West in Longueuil, within the Montérégie region.
According to a spokesperson for the SPAL, agent Jacqueline Pierre, “Shortly before 11 p.m., the longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) was called to assist the Longueuil Agglomeration Fire Safety Service (SSIAL) for a fire under the balcony of an abandoned building located on Saint-Charles Street West, in Longueuil. On site, members of the SSIAL noted the presence of an inanimate body.”
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. As of Sunday morning, the individual’s identity remained unkown.
