L’Oreal has announced a “printer” for drawing eyebrows

by time news

Cosmetics company L’Oreal has announced two automated makeup application devices at the CES 2023 consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

Together with the manufacturer of devices for applying temporary tattoos Prinker, the Brow Magic device was developed to “print” eyebrows. Using Modiface AR augmented reality technology, a user scans their face using a mobile application, selects the desired shape of the eyebrows, applies a primer layer, and then the device uses 2400 miniature nozzles to apply “eyebrows” with a resolution of up to 1200 dpi.

Also developed for makeup application is HAPTA, a portable ultra-precise smart applicator for users with limited mobility of the hands and forearms, which helps to apply lipstick. The device, developed in collaboration with Verily Life Sciences, a manufacturer of tableware with stabilization technology for users with hand tremors, allows you to choose the most comfortable position for a person and then use the attachment system to comfortably apply lipstick. So far, HAPTA works only with lipstick, but the manufacturers promise that in the future the accessory will be able to apply other makeup.

According to L’Oreal, both devices will hit the market in 2023. The cost of Brow Magic and HAPTA is not named.
