jpnn.comBOGOR DISTRICT – The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bogor Regency discovered allegations of vote inflating in a number of sub-districts at the plenary meeting to recapitulate the vote count results for the 2024 Election.

“What was conveyed in the forum was (the result of) wrong input. This wrong input also needs to be deepened, whether it was due to fatigue in the plenary or whether there was a deliberate factor,” said Bogor Regency Bawaslu Chair Ridwan Arifin after the closing of the district level plenary meeting in Cisarua, early Wednesday day.

He revealed that the inflation occurred due to a shift in votes ranging from between parties, between legislative candidates, to a shift in party votes to legislative candidate votes.

Several sub-districts that were recorded as experiencing a shift in votes include Ciseeng, Klapanunggal, Gunungputri, Bojonggede, Jasinga and Citeureup.

Ridwan admitted that he would follow up on allegations of fraud resulting from vote inflating. He emphasized that sub-district election committees (PPK) who are proven to have deliberately shifted votes can be subject to sanctions.

“(The sanctions) can be criminal, and ethics can also be involved,” said Ridwan.

Chairman of the Bogor Regency General Election Commission (KPU), Muhammad Adi Kurnia, admitted at the same place that he was waiting for a recommendation from Bawaslu regarding alleged vote inflating by election organizers.

“We are waiting for the results from Bawaslu to provide recommendations regarding our colleagues who are suspected of inflating their votes,” he said.

Bawaslu discovered many acts of vote inflating in a number of sub-districts in Bogor.
