A Russian drone attack heavily damaged a hotel in the southern Ukrainian city of Nikolaev, the governor of the surrounding Nikolaev region said, and Russia’s RIA news agency reported that the hotel was housing English-speaking mercenaries fighting in Ukraine, Reuters reported, citing BTA.

“The enemy attacked the city with an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Shahed-131/136 type,” announced the governor of the Nikolaev region Vitaly Kim in the Telegram application. “As a result, there was heavy damage to the hotel building, a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished. .. There are no casualties.”

Kim and Ukraine’s state emergency service said the Russian attack damaged windows in a nearby hotel as well as heating infrastructure.

Russia’s state news agency RIA, citing Russian fighters operating in the region, said Russian forces struck a shipyard and hotel in Nikolaev that housed English-speaking mercenaries fighting in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force also announced today in “Telegram”, without providing details, that they destroyed a drone launched by Russia over Mykolaiv.

The Air Force announced that four other drones launched by Russia were destroyed over the area around the capital Kyiv, over central Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad regions and over western Khmelnytskyi region.
