Today it was learned that <a href="https://time.news/supersalud-ordered-forced-intervention-by-the-eps-sanitas-2024-04-06-105327/" title="Supersalud ordered “forced intervention” by the EPS Sanitas
– 2024-04-06 10:53:27″>Luis Carlos Leal will leave the Health Superintendency to assume a new position, this time at the National Institute of Health.
Leal, who led key interventions to entities such as Sanitas and Nueva EPS and managed liquidation requests for Sura and Compensar, will leave the Health Superintendency, marking the end of his eight-month management.
During his time at the Superintendency, Leal gained visibility for his inspection visits to medicine dispensaries and for the implementation of a circular that authorized gender change procedures for minors, a measure that generated widespread debate.
His departure occurs a few days after the senator of the Democratic Center, Andrés Forero, indicated that Laura Sarabia, director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency (Dapre), would have exerted pressure for the removal of Leal due to investigations that could affect figures close to the Government.

“Luis Carlos Leal leaves the Health Superintendence. One of the several people responsible for ending the Colombian health system is leaving. A worse one will arrive and determined to continue the work of nationalizing health,” said former presidential candidate Enrique Gómez.
Castling
But it would not be a definitive departure from the Government, but rather a change: Luis Carlos Leal from the Health Superintendency will arrive at the National Health Institute (INS). While Giovanny Rubiano García, current director of the INS, would arrive at that agency.
The official statement from the national government is awaited.
