It was 29 August 2019 when the world of Luis Enrique and her family were shocked when the little girl was lost Is therewho died at just 9 years of age from bone cancer. “We’re going to miss you a lot though we will remember you every day of our lives hopefully we will meet again in the future. You will be the star that guides our family”, wrote the coach at the time, who took a break from football directly to be close to his daughter. 5 years later, Luis Enrique returns to talk about it with beautiful words, revealing how Xana is a constant presence in his family: he does it in the third and last chapter of the miniseries dedicated to him by Movistar Plus+, in which the current PSG coach shows his daily life telling all the features and making himself known even outside the field. The episode on very deep reflection and certainly not simple. “You will ask me… Can I consider myself lucky or unlucky? I consider myself lucky, very lucky”, says Luis Enrique in the passage. “’But your daughter died when she was 9…’ . My daughter Xana lived with us for 9 wonderful years. And we have a thousand memories of her.”
“Xana is alive”
The coach then tells how he discussed the topic with his mother, though he could not keep photos of the little girl in the house. “My mother didn’t have any pictures of Xana, until one day I came home and said to her, ‘Why don’t you have any pictures of Xana? Xana is alive. He is not with us on the physical plane, but he is here on the spiritual plane. Because every day we talk about it, we laugh and we remember her. I think Xana still sees us. And I ask myself: how do I want Xana to think that we have experienced all this?”.
