The founder and former director of the Peralada Festival, Luis Lopez de Lamadridha mort as confirmed by the same festival in a tweet. Lamadrid was closely linked to the Alt-Empordà festival for 20 years and was a key piece in the projection and positioning of the event from its creation. From the Peralada Festival’s Twitter account, they wanted to thank López de Lamadrid, a person closely linked to different spaces of the opera, for the work he has done. “For more than 20 years, he grew the festival, turning it into one of the most important cultural offers of the summer at national and international level. Thank you very much for that,” highlights the contest.

López de Lamadrid was in charge of the Peralada Festival until 2006 as director and subsequently directed the Spanish Association of Classical Music Festivals, made up of 18 competitions from all over the state, including those of Torroella de Montgríthe Shubertíada of Vilabertran or the same Castle of Peralada.
