Lunkewitz v Treuhandanstalt: Berlin Regional Court dismisses the lawsuit

Berlin The Berlin Regional Court has dismissed the action brought by the former publisher of the Aufbau-Verlag Bernd F. Lunkewitz against the Federal Agency for Unification-Related Special Tasks – formerly the Treuhandanstalt. The real estate dealer, author and publisher, who now lives in the USA, submitted it in 2009. The subject is whether the Treuhandanstalt was allowed to sell the Aufbau-Verlag, the most important literary publisher in the GDR, in 1991. Because according to the research of the buyer who felt he was being cheated, it was neither state nor party property at the time, but belonged to the Kulturbund.
